YUCEL CANDEMIR (1939-2026)
We regret to inform you that our colleague Prof Yucel Candemir from ITU Istanbul passed away.
Yucel was a very active and dedicated member of WCTRS, participating in STC and SCC and chairing the unforgettable 2004 WCTRS Conference, with the support of Fusun Ulengin and their active team.
Afterwards, he organised several seminars, with the support of WCTRS, and made significant contributions to all educational activities within WCTRS; he successfully secured the support of the Turkish professional association for our initiatives.
Yucel was a strong and generous character, a warm-hearted man who loved his country, faithful to his principles throughout his life, trustworthy, sincere, kind and supportive to his friends. Yucel actively supported young researchers and younger colleagues from ITS, introducing them to the international research environment and building bridges in the academic world.
On behalf of WCTRS members, we express our deepest condolences to his family and close friends. We will miss Yucel Candemir!
